In September 2002 Norwegian launched a program of low-cost domestic flights between Oslo and Stavanger, Bergen, Trondheim and Tromso using a fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. On April 5th, 2002 we initiated low-cost flights to destinations in Spain and Portugal. During the summer of 2003, the network was expanded with flights to the Norwegian cities Alta, Harstad/Narvik, Bodo og Alesund, and international routes to London and Stockholm. The company has operated routes between destinations in western Norway on behalf of Braathens since 1993 using Fokker 50s. This operation was terminated March 31st, 2003. In April 2003 Norwegian started flying regional routes in the north of Norway, also using Fokker 50s. However, since our strategy is to focus on low-cost flights using Boeing 737 aircraft, the Fokker 50 operation was terminated December 31st, 2003. In 2002 Norwegian Air Shuttle AS transported 1.2 million passengers. The company?s headquarters are located at Fornebu, just outside Oslo.
